bbe Moldaenke - chlorophyll analysis & integrated algae class determination
The bbe AlgaeTorch and FluoroProbe are highly sensitive measuring instruments for chlorophyll analysis. They use the different fluorescent responses of up to 4 algal classes to calculate the concentrations by direct immersion from the surface down to depths of 100 m depending on the option chosen.
With the AlgaeTorch the results are readable instantly from the LED readout, and available for electronic upload to a PC. The FluoroProbe software allows highly detailed data analysis. Data is either continuously transferred via a serial link for display or can be stored in the probe for transfer at a later time.
- The AlgaeTorch is largely used for rapid onsite assessment, while the FluoroProbe can produce software maps showing algae distributions to anticipate and respond to algal blooms
- Both systems use a set of diodes of different wavelength to excite different fluorescence characteristics of different algae classes eg green algae, blue-green algae, diatoms, dinoflagellates, cryptophyceae.
- Fully submersible to allow depth profiling of algae concentrations
- The fluoroprobe can be used with remote telemetry
- Optional attachment for the Fluoroprobe is BenthoFluor Spectrofluorometer for the chlorophyll analysis and integrated algae class determination for the benthos area.
